Just a day after an Iraqi journalist threw at U.S. President George W. Bush his shoes, head of the U.S. state paid a farewell visit to Afghanistan during which he was awarded the highest state medal of the country.
In a statement, the press service of the President of Afghanistan Hamid Karzai on the occasion of awarding medals to Bush highly behalf of the national hero of the country’s Gaza Amanullah Khan said that the head of the U.S. won the award for “assistance and cooperation with the Afghan people”, said agency dpa.
A former official of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country Waheed Muzhda in this regard, noted that “the majority of Afghans know Bush as a man who committed unforgivable crimes in Afghanistan and elsewhere in the world.”
According to the Kabul street vendor Abdul Jabar, “the fact that we are not thrown into Bush his shoes, does not mean that there is no killing of civilians and innocent people. It merely says that the culture of our country does not allow the poor to dispense with our guests. ”
Recall that the notorious incident of the shoes came in the course of the last Sunday in a Baghdad press conference. The correspondent of the independent Iraqi TV channel Al-Baghdadi al-Zaidi Muntadar threw his shoes in the Bush, accompanied by this action the following insults: “This is a gift from the Iraqis. This is a farewell kiss, you - the dog. It’s the widows and orphans of all innocent people killed in Iraq. ”
